Various European fixed income exchanges set to launch swap futures this year
A panel of lawyers, exchanges and investment
banks told FOW Trading Amsterdam 2015 the many swap futures
exchanges emerging in Europe could have a bright future but
there is an inherent cost for the banks in moving these
products onto exchanges.
Speaking on the Future of Futurisation panel
at the conference on Tuesday, Carolyn Jackson, a partner at law
firm Katten, said: "There are various interest rate futures
trying to get started and I feel it's the right time because
the dealers are in a different place so want something other
than over-the-counter interest rates."
