Many CTAs have seen performance improve in the past six months
A panel of top traders debated on Tuesday
the role of smaller commodity trading advisors in a market
dominated by tougher regulatory requirements and increasingly
demanding clients and found they have a place assuming they can
satisfy tough compliance requirements.
Speaking at the FOW Trading Amsterdam 2015,
Mathias Osterberg, the chief executive of Estlander &
Partners, threw down the gauntlet to fellow panellists by
saying: "The challenges around asset raising and regulation
mean the majority of new assets are going to the largest
managers. Consultants also have an increasing role and they
appear to be recommending the large managers."
