Traditional 'point and click' proprietary trading is set for a radical shake-up in the age of algorithmic trading, according to industry
experts at FOW’s inaugural ‘Evolution of Proprietary Trading’ event.
Peter van Kleef, CEO of Lakeview Capital Market Services, Alex Haywood, CEO of Futex Live and Neil Crammond, director of EVOI, said there is a future for prop firms but they face challenges.
“Point-and-click trading is vital to our market,” said Crammond. “You
cannot reply on auto-pilot – you need the human element to remain an integral
part of the action of trading. High frequency trading (HFT) and point-and-click are in the same bracket,
the issue is where we add liquidity to the market.”
