The BGC/ GFI deal brings to a close the long running take over battle
BGC Partners, the US
inter-dealer broker, has reached an agreement with rival GFI
Group to support its offer for the firm, bringing to conclusion
the long-running take over.
The deal comes after
almost 48% of GFI shareholders agreed to support the tender
offer, surpassing the 45% required for the deal to
GFI said in a statement
that its board of directors had unanimously agreed to support
BGC's tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of GFI
common stock at $6.10 per share in cash.
