CFTC commissioner Giancarlo unveiled radical Dodd-Frank reform last month
Michael Spencer, the chief executive of
Icap, has thrown his weight behind a controversial plan by a
commissioner of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission to
roll-back the US Dodd-Frank Act.
Spencer said on Tuesday: "There is a new
commissioner at the CFTC, Chris Giancarlo, who has considerable
personal experience of the markets.
"He has recently expressed an opinion on
the Dodd-Frank Act which has provided good illumination and
there may be a slight re-working or tweaking of Dodd-Frank,
which would be a good thing."
