S&P 500 futures contract will remain open on Chicago trading floor
Futures giant CME Group is to close most
of its open outcry futures trading in New York and Chicago
after volumes in the contracts fell to just 1% of the
firm’s total futures volume.
The Merc confirmed the closure of most of
its futures trading pits in Chicago and New York in a statement
after the market close Wednesday. CME said most of the pits
will close by July.
