Regulator has not dismissed the prospect revisiting its decision at a later date.
The European Securities
and Markets Authority (Esma) has dropped controversial
proposals for a clearing obligation on foreign exchange
non-deliverable forwards (NDFs).
The regulator said that
based on industry feedback it had decided not to propose "a
clearing obligation on the NDF classes at this stage", adding:
ore time is needed to appropriately address the main concerns
raised during the consultation."
