The exchange said it expects 20% growth in contract this year
Nasdaq OMX said it expects its salmon
future to build on last year's solid growth and increase a
further 20% this year before accelerating after that, according
to the exchange's head of seafood.
The exchange said salmon is one of its
fastest growing commodities markets and recorded in 2014 its
second busiest year on record
Eric Flingtorp, the head of seafood
markets at Nasdaq Commodities, said he expects "moderate 20%
growth this year, until the enhanced distribution network is up
and running later this year. After that we expect to see a much
faster growth in the salmon market."
