Estlander & Partners research highlights return to fundamentals and falling correlations between commodity classes
Commodity Trading Advisor Estlander &
Partners believes CTAs should re-start investing in commodities
citing improving conditions for traditional trading
Martin Estlander, chairman of
Finland-based E&P, said the "time is right" for CTAs to
return to commodities due to a fall in correlations and a
return to fundamentals driving prices in the market.
E&P launched its systematic commodity
investment fund in November last year, combining a long-term
trend-based traditional strategy and a short-term "supply
shock" strategy designed to identify and invest in commodities
ahead of shortages of supply.
