The European authority is set to meet on Wednesday to ratify the proposals
The European Securities and Markets
Authority is set to approve on Wednesday the technical
standards for the implementation of the next round of the
Markets in Financial Instruments Directive.
Esma’s Board of Governors,
comprising the heads of the 28 European Union member state
regulators, is set to meet on December 17 and the expectation
is it will ratify a 1500 page draft consultation document which
could be published as early as the end of next week.
