IDB goes to GFI shareholders putting pressure on CME to raise bid
BGC Partners has begun a hostile bid for GFI Group as it
claimed that the management of the rival inter-dealer broker
has "thwarted any merger negotiations" between the two
In a statement released this morning, BGC, which already
owns 13.5% of GFI’s shares, said it had commenced
a fully-financed tender offer to acquire the rival
interdealer-broker GFI at $5.25 per share.
