Europe will introduce in 2016 new rules that up the stakes in clearing
CME Group and the London Stock Exchange group have cut a
deal whereby the LSE’s settlement system will
support the CME’s European clearing system and
ensure compliance with new clearing rules that take effect in
The LSE said in a statement its new central securities
depository known as globeSettle has been selected by CME
Clearing Europe as a potential collateral location for members,
meaning CME Clearing clients can use globeSettle to pass
collateral back and forth to the clearing house.
