A commissioner at the US derivatives watchdog has slammed
current rules on swaps trading which extend to non-US persons,
calling for a sweeping removal of exterritorial
Chris Giancarlo, the former broker who joined the Commodity
Futures Trading Commission in June, said: "The CFTC swaps
trading rules contain a host of peculiar limitations based on
practises in the US futures markets that have not been adopted
in the EU or anywhere else."
