The US futures watchdog has won a legal battle against trade
bodies representing the world’s top investment
banks over its right to force draconian swaps rules on non-US
District of Columbia Judge Paul Freidman said on Tuesday the
Commodity Futures Trading Commission had not crossed its
jurisdictional boundaries by introducing rules for cross-border
swaps set out in the Dodd-Frank Act.
