August was slow despite tensions in Ukraine, Iraq and North Africa
Trading of commodities and interest rate derivatives at the
IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) fell 9% to 92m contracts last
month, as low volatility continued to hit volumes.
Volumes on its US platform, ICE Futures US, fell by 39.8% to
23.3m contracts traded, its lowest level since September 2012
as a result of weak demand in its US gas products.
