Brokers are ditching phones for screens to cut costs and placate regulators
RP Martin, the broker fined for Libor rigging, has held
secret talks with rivals over a possible sale, underlining the
plight of inter-dealer brokers struggling with low volumes and
London-based Martins is said by broking sources to have
talked secretly with various firms about a possible sale.
Sources said no agreement has been reached and candidates to
buy the firm include its larger inter-dealer broker rivals.
