Michel Barnier names five countries for regulatory equivalence; US not included
European Commissioner Michel Barnier will recommend that
five countries are given equivalence over European clearing
regulations, allowing them to clear EU derivatives trades.
Barnier will recommend to the Commission that Japan,
Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and India have met the criteria
to be recognised as equivalent to Europe.
