Mansion House speech hints at rate rise earlier than currently priced into market
Bank of England (BoE) governor Mark Carney has said the
central bank rate could rise sooner than the markets currently
Carney said at the annual Mansion House banquet last night
factors such as stronger growth and the accelerated drop in
unemployment is increasing pressure on the Bank to raise rates
from the historical low of 0.5%.
