Firm is moving from mostly phone-based broking to using screens to execute trades
Icap hiked its spending on electronic execution by almost a
fifth in the last calendar year as the derivatives broker looks
to cash-in on growing demand for screen-based trading.
According to the annual report released by the interdealer
broker on Wednesday, the increase in investment for electronic
trading projects such as its swap execution facility (Sef)
reflects a shift away from its trading voice brokering business
and towards more profitable areas due to the regulatory
