US options trading suffered as early year volatility dried up
US options activity suffered in May its second
largest monthly loss as trading fell almost a fifth on the
same month last year, according to a trade body.
The decrease is the largest since the record drop in volumes
experienced after the US was downgraded by S&P in August
2011 resulting in huge volatility.
