The CME chair hopes to convince politicians to exempt the US futures market from new HFT rules
CME Group chairman Terry Duffy is to appear before the US
Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry on
Tuesday to discuss high frequency trading (HFT) in the futures
market, writes Joe Parsons.
Duffy will speak to the Senate committee in the hope of
convincing US politicians that the US futures market is
fundamentally different from share trading and should not
therefore be swept up in planned new restrictions on HFT in the
