Icap’s European swap execution facility (Sef) went
live on Monday following approval from the US Commodity Futures
Trading Commission (CFTC), becoming the first European
electronic venue to support swaps trading with US persons,

The Icap launch comes just days before rival swaps brokers
have to decide whether or not to apply to the CFTC for
clearance to allow their swaps venues, known as multi-lateral
trading facilities (MTFs), to trade US swaps with US
