The US-based exchange group has become the first to clear European sovereign debt
ICE Clear Europe will become the first central counterparty
(CCP) to clear Western European sovereign credit default
swaps (CDS) later this
month, following years of lobbying with regulators,
writes Joe Parsons.
The clearing of European sovereign CDS products on Ireland,
Italy, Portugal and Spain will commence on April 28 at ICE
Clear Europe, following receipt of regulatory approval.
