Eurodollar trading surge in March leads to 18.5% volume increase at CME Group
CME Group’s trading volumes rose 18.5% to 295m
contracts during March, following a surge of activity on its
interest rate derivatives products, particularly Eurodollar
futures and options, writes Joe Parsons.
Eurodollar futures and mid-curve options achieved daily
records during March and helped drive CME’s total
interest rate volumes to a 41.4%, year-on-year (YoY) increase
with 147m contracts traded.
