The final round of US
over-the-counter market reforms is set to boost activity on
both swap execution facilities and exchanges offering swap
futures products in the coming months, writes Jonathan
The Commodity Futures Trading
Commission’s (CFTC) overhaul of the swaps market
came to a head this week as the mandatory trading of certain
interest rate swaps on Sefs was introduced on February 15.
As a result, traders will be
forced to adapt to a new method of execution use the electronic
platforms or turn to swap futures.
