Trading across all 12 US options platforms was halted yesterday
due to an issue with quote distribution system as the number of
technology faults continues to pile up, writes Jonathan
The outage was caused by a problem in the Options Price
Reporting Authority (OPRA), a system owned by NYSE Euronext
which distributes orders containing price quotes to brokers and
The OPRA fault caused trading to be halted at around 1.41pm
ET and was up and running again by 2.00pm ET.
