Nomura has appointed Shaun Lim as head of oil and oil products trading for Asia, excluding Japan. He joins from Barclays Capital’s Singapore office, where he was a senior fuel oil trader.
Lim has 13 years’ experience in the oil markets
on both the paper and physical trading side. He will be based
in Singapore, reporting to Sean Brecker, head of commodities
trading, Asia ex-Japan.
"Shaun brings to Nomura a wealth of expertise in oil markets,
especially in Asian oil markets. We look forward to his
contribution as we continue to build our commodities platform
in the region," said Brecker in a statement.
In January, the bank hired Iain Lawson from Citigroup as head
of commodities structuring for the same region. Lawson started
his career as a physical oil trader at Shell.
