Michael Hutchinson, former non-executive chairman of RBS
Sempra, has been appointed a director at Metalloyd, the
London-based iron ore and steel trading company. Hutchinson
will drive Metalloyd’s non-ferrous metals and
futures businesses as it diversifies.
Hutchinson left RBS Sempra Metals, the London Metal Exchange
Ring dealing member, in September, after working there for 38
He also stepped down from his positions on the LME board and
committees. He had chaired all three aluminium committees and
was vice-chair of the tin committee. Hutchinson also sat on the
LME’s nickel and steel committees.
Hutchinson remains a non-executive director of Wogen, a
metals trading house. He also sits on the board of Mecom Group,
a European content and consumer business, and is non-executive
chairman of Greenland Minerals and Energy, a mineral
exploration and development company.
Separately, the LME will hold elections for directors to
represent category one shareholders on the boards of LME
Holdings and LME Ltd.
Jim Land of Amalgamated Metal Trading, Tim Jones of RBS
Sempra and Barclays Capital’s Brian Smith are all
candidates for the LME Holdings board. Jones and Smith are also
standing for the LME Ltd board.
