The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued a
no-action letter allowing US customers to trade agricultural
derivatives on Eurex.
The contracts, which can be traded in the US with immediate
effect, are: European piglet futures, hog futures, as well as
futures on European processing potatoes and potatoes for the
British market, known as London Potatoes. The cash-settled
index futures were launched on July 20, marking a further
expansion of the Frankfurt-based exchange’s
commodities segment. The contracts were developed to capture
interest from core market participants, particularly in Germany
and the Netherlands.
