CME Group is offering clearing for gold forwards via CME
ClearPort from August 23. The contracts will be negotiated
bilaterally and cleared via the exchange’s
over-the-counter clearing house.
The exchange said it decided to launch the forwards, known
as London Gold Forwards, rather than futures because the gold
OTC market in London has always been priced through forwards.
The new contracts will be physically delivered and there will
be no delivery or reportable position limits.
