Nicolas Breteau to global head of sales and front office.
Breteau was previously chief executive officer of Newedge
Europe and Middle East. His job will be taken over by his
deputy CEO, Amaury de Villemandy.
Breteau, who remains a member of Newedge
Group’s executive committee, has been CEO of
Newedge Europe and Middle East since the brokerage was founded
following the merger of Fimat and Calyon Financial in January
Before then, he was managing director for the euro zone at
He joined the firm in 1993, first heading the front office
of Fimat SNC, the group’s Paris-based subsidiary.
In 1998, he was appointed general manager of Fimat SNC and a
member of the Fimat Group management committee.
Over the years, he has also held positions as financial
controller for the euro zone, deputy general manager in charge
of sales in Paris, deputy general manager for the UK, and chief
executive officer of the UK in 2003.
He began his career in 1989 working for Oddo & Cie in
equity derivatives sales.
