Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has been granted
an increased budget following repeated calls from the
regulator, which insisted extra funds were vital in allowing
the regulator to achieve its mandate.
President George W Bush signed into law an omnibus spending
bill that includes $112.05m for the CFTC for the 2008 fiscal
year. The budget is a significant increase from the 2007 budget
