As FO Week went to press, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)
said it has received overseas clearinghouse status from the
UK's Financial Services Authority (FSA).
The status is effective immediately and will enable CME to
clear products not traded on centralised US markets. CME will
be able to clear OTC products regulated by FSA, such as
currency forwards, and can market other OTC clearing services
in the UK, including Swapstream and FX MarketSpace.
