Following an announcement that it plans to hire consultants
to advise on the introduction of commodity futures to its
market, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) is not
divulging further information on its strategy.
The exchange expects to invite expressions of interest from
consultants although the exchange refuses to be drawn on when
progress might be expected. "The invitation will include a
deadline and we expect to provide some information on the
project for review by consultants?. I do not know at this point
whether that information will include some kind of general or
specific timetable," an HKEX spokesperson said.
