The Democratic seat for commissioner at Commodity Futures
Trading Commission (CFTC) looks close to being filled.
While sources told FO Week that Bart Chilton, who currently
serves as senior vice president of government relations at
National Farmers Union in Washington, has been tapped for the
Democratic seat at CFTC, Chilton himself denied any contact had
been made. Previously a senior advisor from 2001 to 2005 to
former Senator Tom Daschle, Chilton told FO Week he
has not been approached about the commissioner position.
