New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) registered a mere 27
lots traded in its newly launched London Metal Exchange (LME)
mini lookalike contracts through 12 December, swamped by its
counterpart in the first round of the exchanges' primary bout
to gain marketshare.
In comparison to Nymex's sluggish start, LME saw a much
faster jump out of the starting blocks. In the first week of
trading, which commenced on 4 December, LME had seen 3,066
contracts change hands over its Select trading
