Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) has teamed up with a
commercial real estate index contract provider to launch
futures and options on US commercial real estate.
Scheduled to launch during the first quarter of next year,
the exchange said it hoped the new contracts would enable
"investors and speculators to protect or gain exposure" to the
US commercial property market, which the exchange estimated to
be worth around $5.3tr.
