Exchange still looking at Q4 launch with Oman crude
Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) said, last week, it was set
to begin trading Oman crude oil futures contracts on screen
before the end of this year despite still not having announced
a platform provider.
A spokesperson for the exchange told FO Week that
no decision had as yet been reached regarding an electronic
platform. "DME is now investigating all available possible
technology options," she said.
A joint venture between New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex)
and Dubai Holdings, DME was originally to use Nymex's ClearPort
trading system, but since Nymex's decision to host its
contracts on Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)'s Globex
platform, DME has been without a platform provider.
