E-Speed has accused Trading Technologies (TT) of concocting
settlement claims for firms that have been successfully sued
for patent infringement during the case's first day's hearing
in the Federal District Court for the Northeastern District of
George Lombardi, E-Speed's attorney said, in response to
TT's claim that it had sued 20 firms for patent infringement
and that 14 have so far settled, that the "settlements were
manufactured" by TT to bolster its patents.
The hearing started on 16 August and was expected to last
three days. It was to help determine exactly how ironclad TT's
patents are, as well as how far they reach in terms of their
technology and function.
