NYSE Arca was set to launch its new electronic options
trading platform at the end of the month, a move that it said
would bring greater speed and functionality to its options
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published NYSE
Arca's rules and was in the final days of the 21-day comment
Pending regulatory approval, exchange executives said they
hoped to launch the new platform on 31 July.
The platform will replace the much, maligned PCX Plus
trading system, which has been fraught with reliability
problems since being launched in May 2003 by the former Pacific
