Two more senators last week joined the US legislative calls
for Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to have its
powers of oversight of overseas energy exchanges beefed up.
This included a request for UK regulators to provide
information about the trading activity of non-US participants
on a UK exchange.
A report by the staffs of senators Carl Levin and Norm
Coleman warned that unregulated trading on the London-based ICE
Futures risks damaging the US economy.
