Chicago Mercantile Exchange has announced plans to launch
currency futures and options on the Chinese renminbi against
the dollar, euro and yen on 27 August. The US exchange has also
transferred its Asian MD, CF Wong, from Singapore to its new
regional office in Hong Kong.
CME chairman Terry Duffy said, "The launch of these new
contracts, the opening of our new Hong Kong office and the
upcoming launch of futures and options on futures on the Korean
won (see FO Week Vol 11 No 21) as well as other new
products, demonstrate CME's ongoing commitment to the entire
