The most significant fee hikes were those scheduled for
agriculture contracts traded on the E-CBoT electronic trading
platform. Trading sources described the timing of these as
"curious" since ags go side-by-side with floor trading on 1
August. Fees on floor executed ag contracts will remain
unchanged and open outcry will be at a major discount to
electronically traded ag contracts, leading some to question
whether the exchange was attempting to protect the pits.
