The sometimes contentious relations between New York
Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) and members of its subsidiary
exchange, Comex, especially over electronic trading of metals,
could limit Nymex's efforts to shift metals to side-by-side
electronic trading as planned for the third quarter.
Executives at both divisions were last week continuing
negotiations to clear the way for electronic trading on Chicago
Mercantile Exchange's Globex trading platform.
