New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) said last week it will
launch side-by-side trading of its energy futures contracts on
Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)'s Globex electronic trading
platform on June 12.
The timing of the move has been viewed as very significant
as Intercontinental Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade have
continued to take chunks of Nymex's oil and precious metals
markets respectively. The shift to the screen has been regarded
as a key prop for the New York exchange's franchise.
