Russia's meteorology service, Rosgidromet, and Moscow
electronic exchange, RTS, have signed an agreement to cooperate
in establishing a climate derivatives trading platform.
The move followed a bitter cold spell that swept the country
and caused havoc, though Rosgidromet said it had began looking
at means of insuring against weather extremities years ago.
