Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) and New York Board of Trade
(Nybot) announced on 25 January a non-binding letter of intent
to list Nybot's financial products on the Chicago exchange's
E-CBoT electronic trading platform.
Fees and terms were still being discussed and not available,
but the plan was to list Nybot financial products on E-CBoT
starting with its US dollar index, followed by currencies and
stock index futures by the fourth quarter. Clearing would be
done by Nybot's clearinghouse.
Nybot officials said there were no plans to include Nybot's
benchmark softs contracts - cotton, coffee, sugar, cocoa and
frozen orange juice - on E-CBoT, although pulp and ethanol
futures may be considered for screen trading.
