Following a board meeting last week, the future of
struggling exchange Eurex US has become clearer. As parent firm
Deutsche Börse said it has been looking at a strategic
partnership for its US derivatives arm, which, according to
market sources, might possibly involve Archipelago.
Archipelago last week finalised its merger with New York
Stock Exchange, a deal which also included options business
Another possible partner named was Philadelphia Stock
Exchange, speculation on which a spokesperson said the exchange
did not wish to comment. Archipelago had not commented by press
