Swedish exchange and technology provider OMX and Norwegian
Futures and Options Clearinghouse (NOS) have entered into a
strategic technology partnership to create a more efficient
Nordic Baltic market for clearing and settlement of
OMX and NOS said in a statement that they "share the vision
of a consolidated Nordic Baltic derivatives clearing platform".
As a first step towards this, NOS will replace its current
financial clearing system, Focs, with OMX's Secur system by the
beginning of 2006. NOS will also outsource the operation of the
new platform to OMX for a period of ten years.
