Trading Technologies (TT) and CQG have locked horns legally,
each filing lawsuits against each other after talks to forge a
settlement broke down.
CQG, a Denver-based data vendor and ISV, has filed a suit in
Denver stating it is not infringing on TT's patents and
challenging the validity of them. Meanwhile, TT has filed a
patent infringement case against CQG.
Joe Schroeter, president of CQG, told FO Week that
his firm decided to file suit after it was threatened with a
lawsuit by TT if it did not sign a settlement. Schroeter added
that CQG believed TT has incorrectly interpreted the breadth
and scope of its MD Trader patents.
